Week In Review #3

Saturday, January 31, 2015

most pictures are on my instagram // evie_b_f

1) My cousin stole my makeup brush 2) Half needle-ish thing at dance
3) Katie's my main bae 4) Ballet girls
5) Dance squad 6) First attempt at sushi, turned out quite nice

Sorry I haven't been posting very often this week; I have been a part of a dance show so I've had a rehearsal on Tuesday and then a show everyday Wednesday through Friday! I am so worn out.

I honestly have done barely anything this week except dance but I have had fun whilst doing so! I honestly think I've became closer to these people and they are all fabulous dancers as well! But on another note, isn't my cousin so cute!

Before I go I want to apologise on the lack of updates and the crappy quality of my pictures. How was your week?

Primer: Maybelline vs Rimmel

Monday, January 26, 2015

I have recently bought a new primer because I was in desperate need of another and my friend Katie recommended this one for me, Rimmel's Stay Matte Primer. There are so many good points for this primer I had to compare it with my other primer.

An up side to Stay Matte is that it is only £6 and has a great coverage. You get 30ml for it which I think is really good compared to others and it makes my skin insanely smooth. I haven't had it long but I don't think that there are any down sides to it, I just think it's great because it keeps my makeup on really well,

Baby Skin, on the other hand it £2 dearer which comes up to £8 and only had 22ml in it which is nearly a third less than Stay Matte. I am going to admit it, when I used this for the first time I thought it was great because it really does what it says, 'poreless looking skin'. But, I had to start rationing it after a while because it didn't last very long.

Overall, I honestly prefer Rimmel's Stay Matte Primer. What primer do you use?

Week In Review #2

Sunday, January 25, 2015

1) Dug out my first pair of converse 2/3) Looked at pictures of me and my brother when we were younger

This week I've not had the most eventful week but I've done some nice things. I went out to the carvery for my Grandpas birthday (he's now 71!), finished the dance for the show next week and looked through an old photo album full of pictures of me from when I was much younger. I also had a dress rehearsal for the dance show next week and went out shopping with Katie! I've also decided to start to get healthy and do the 30 day squat, ab and thigh challenge, it probably won't last but at least I am heading towards one of my long-term goals.

What did you do this week?

Huggle Up Prints

Friday, January 23, 2015

I recently ordered a load of prints from HuggleUp and I absolutely love them! In real life the pictures are much smaller but they're really cute. I ordered the petit-polaroids which came up to £12.50 for 44 pictures, but I used a discount code which bumped it down to £10.

This post isn't very interesting but I really liked these and wanted to share them with you!

Seventeen Eyeshadow Crayons

Monday, January 19, 2015

For Christmas, from my aunt and her partner I received theses Seventeen eyeshadow crayon duos. I don't know the exact name of them because I got rid of the packaging a long time ago now but you get the gist. I had never tried eyeshadow crayons before even though I've always wanted to so I was really happy when I got these!

The one which I use the most is the pink champagne colour with the brown on the other end, it's a nice combination for everyday but can be deepened with more brown or a little bit of black. Even though I love these there has got to be a down side, after a few hours of wear it starts to get in the crease in my eyelids really bad and I have to try blending it or take it off. I should try a eyelid primer, is the Rimmel eyelid primer good?

If I went in to a shop and saw these there to repurchase I honestly wouldn't do it but if anyone has found and colour matches which aren't too expensive then please drop a comment down below!

Week In Review #1

Sunday, January 18, 2015

1) Had a load of old-ish music lent to me 2) Took selfies with Paige and Kyra in our Physics revision lesson
3) Finally got to sit with my friends at lunch after dance rehearsals all week 4) Chip shop with baes

So, I know other people do things like this but under other names such as 'Sunday Summary' (Amy Valentine) or 'Wear Life Eats' (Lily Pebbles). I know somebody else probably has named their weekly summary this but I'm going to go for it.

This is a start of a weekly series where I will just update you on my week, what I've done and how I've been. It won't be anything too long, just a paragraph and a few pictures. But nevertheless, I hope you enjoy it!

Another thing I did this week was update my blog layout and design!

How was your week?

Purple Hair

Saturday, January 17, 2015

I am absolutely in love with the way that my hair turned out! My hair isn't the lightest but it also isn't the darkest to the colour developed better in some places of my hair rather than others.

I've had ombred (bleached) hair for over a year now so the end of my hair were blonde so the colour was more vibrant on the ends than at the roots.

I had to use to boxes of Shwarzkopf LIVE Colour XXL in Purple Punk, but three would have been even better. The pictures aren't the best quality because they were all take on my phone. The first two are a day or two after I had it dyed and the third picture is on Christmas Day.

At the moment the ends of my hair have still got purple in, but some people do get it mixed up with pink and I am planning on dying it again in the summer holidays, mainly because the school I go to doesn't like un-natural hair colours but nobody has mentioned anything about it yet!

Sorry it was such a short post! I'm trying to get back in to the flow of blogging again.

What colour hair do you have or want to have?

New Music

Wednesday, January 14, 2015

So, not long ago my parents came in to my room holding stacks of CDs and dumped them on to my desk so I can have a look through them, I am literally in love with the music I've listened to so far!

Imports:

The Sound of The Smiths - The Smiths - album with 23 songs on. My favourites are 'Ask' and 'Panic' I've heard them on The Smiths vinyls I have.

How Soon Is Now? (UK Single #1) - The Smiths - 4 songs

This Charming Man - The Smiths - 2 discs, 11 songs altogether

One Man's Medicine - One Man's Medicine - 4 songs - my dad use to be friends with the people from this band, you can't find any of their music on the internet though which is unfortunate because I love it! - favourite is 'Ten Feet Tall'.

Slight Returns - The Bluetones - 3 songs - my favourite is 'Don't Stand Me Down'.

Bona Drag - Morrissey - 14 songs - loving 'Ouija Board, Ouija Board'

Sorry for the bad pictures!

What music do you listen to?

'Girl Online' Review

Wednesday, January 14, 2015

It's not normal that I do reviews but seeing as I have been watching Zoe for around three years now I felt the need to do a review.

Honestly, this isn't my book, I borrowed it off of my friends, Georgina. I thought it wasn't going to be very good after all of the reviews and rumours going around about a ghost writer, but I was surprised.

I'm not one for love stories, I like fantasy and action/horror books, but I did enjoy reading it. I could relate to the blogging and photograph side to it, even though I don't have many views or comments at the moment.

I've never been could with book reviews but I think you should try reading it your self, borrow it off a friend, take it out of the library and give it a shot (it's £5 on Amazon right now for a hard back version!).

If it has been ghost written then I honestly don't even care because I thoroughly enjoyed this story and was captivated by it and the only time I put it down was to go to sleep, school or the dentist. I ended up finishing this book in two days (I finished it about half an hour ago now!).

If I had to give this book a rating I would give it a solid 4.5/5, I can't wait for the next one which has been rumoured about!

And as Penny Porter says,

New Years Resolutions

Monday, January 12, 2015

So, recently the new year has begun and everywhere I am hearing 'new year, new me,' no, same old me, just a new year.

I wouldn't say I have new years resolutions but I have long term goals and I thought I would share a few with you.

  • Become healthier. Yes I know, this is probably one of the most popular new years resolution but if I do I think I would be much more confident with myself and actually like myself more than I do now. I've already decided to cut back a little on sweets (she says while eating a chocolate orange) and for lent give up chocolate (again) and maybe this time cake as well. Another way I'm going to do this is by putting more effort in to my dancing and get out of bed on weekends, any exercise helps. Also, my mum is making me do a workout DVD with her *sigh*. (my trainers in the picture above, I love them!)
  • Keep my room tidy. I always have been one of them people who once in a blue moon tidy their room a little bit, but I'm going to have to keep it tidy so I can have a nice and relaxing place to study seeing as I have started my GCSE work. I also need to stop collecting AriZona bottle because I have 3 cans, 4 plastic bottles and 3 glass bottles in my room.
  • Get a job. I am always one to worry about money, how much I spent, how much I have and how much others spend on me. Another reason to get a job is because I am saving up for a proper Canon camera which will improve the quality of the pictures on this blog, the quality of my YouTube videos and also because I have loved photography for four years. I actually got my first camera in 2011 for Christmas (I still use it now), it's actually a Samsung PL121! I also want to get better Christmas and birthday presents for my friends.
  • Pay more attention in class. This, again, is mainly because of dreaded GCSE's because I really want to get good grades so I can go to a good university because I want to study things like Psychology and Criminology.
If you want to share some of your own goals in the comment section below, I would love to read them!

2014 In Review July-December

Saturday, January 03, 2015

July
At the start of the month I had my birthday, which was a hella load of fun! Then it came to the time we had to leave school and move up to college (High school in America). The day before the last day of term was a strike day so we could do whatever we want but because we didn't have a end of year trip our school organised a fun day on that day, there were inflatables and all that jazz. Unfortunately, I was in a really bad mood that afternoon and didn't go on anything, not even the bouncy castle, I regret it now. Later that day we had a celebration evening where smart people were rewarded and then there was a party, all of my friends except me were at least nominated for an award but I had a great time at the party afterwards. On the last day of term it took a whole hour to walk home because of hugging and crying and signing t-shirts (even though we saw most people again six weeks later). As you can see from the pictures I spent July messing about and hanging out with friends. I actually refused to go swimming this year, the picture of me in the black clothes was a day where I went round my friends but I didn't join in because they were in the pool.  Also, I got my first pair of pointe shoes in July! I was so excited, I actually went with my friend Katie and it's now January but I still love them even if they hurt a bit.

August (this is gonna be long)
This month was actually quite like July because again I didn't do much because I had no homework because I was starting a new school. Me and my friends did things like have movie mornings, go in to town, shop and hang out most the month and I found it really fun. That month I dip-dyed my hair a mix of bubblegum blue and lilac because that was what I had left but it came out green but I still loved it! Then my friend had her birthday so we went in to town to do some shopping and then got food from Tesco and ate it at the park, one of the picture is from that day. Me and my friend Kyra, if you look through the picture she had black and green/blue hair, had a race to see who can eat packet of 12 jaffa cakes the fastest, I won! Later on in the month aka the last week of the summer holidays, my family and two other families went to Belgium together so some of them could go and watch the F1 Grand Prix in Spa. Even though it rained quite a bit, it was also quite sunny and I enjoyed, my love for AriZona ice tea started in Belgium as well And my cousin was born back home while we were on holiday! Click this link for the video and this link for the blog post. Also while in Spa I dip-dyed my hair bright pink, it had to be scrubbed multiple times for it to come out for school. Then the final book in the Skulduggery Pleasant series came out, I cried. I also got Sims 3!

September
I went back to school this month and reunited with my friends. Changed my instagram theme, got my tilt (!), had movie mornings, made a pyramid, made 18 paper cranes, tried sushi for the first time, started learning Japanese and became a rebel by taking selfies in Physics. This one is a bit shorter because I wrote loads the two months before

October
I became close friends with Georgina (from Marie and Hazel) who I have been going to dance with for the past four years. I also went to London (again) but with my family and I saw Wicked for the second time it's still brilliant, and I also went to see Swan Lake performed by the Russian State Ballet. Then came Halloween which I made a post about which you can find here. I also did a one-handed needle/tilt type thing, just see the picture below (it's even better now).

November
Not a lot happened in November but I went to a bonfire and did a post and video which you can find here. I also did my first make up video! Even though I look a right idiot because I open my mouth while I put mascara on. I got an A on a Psychology test but was one mark off of an A+ but my mum bought The Fault in Our Stars on DVD for me. Got my first MAC lipstick, got locked out, started drinking coffee and read lots of John Green.

December
In December I drank lots more coffee and did loads more tests seeing as it was coming to the end of term. I went round my friends (Kyra) for a movie marathon with a few other people and we took lots of pictures. Had a group picture in Christmas jumpers, messed about, tests, the people who had 97% attendance or above in year 10 got to go and see Maze Runner for free and I dyed my hair purple but it was semi-permanent. Using the selfie stick in the bottom two pictures and had a fun New Years Eve which included getting electrocuted in a game.

Okay wow, I had a absolutely fantastic 2014 but I hope 2015 will be even better! I hope you had a good year!

2014 In Review January-June

Saturday, January 03, 2015

Hi everyone! This is going to be more of a wordy post where I am going to write about my year, and all that jazz.

January
I wouldn't say a lot happened in January, I'm pretty sure that I just pissed about with my friends most of the time. We had survived Christmas. The only thing really was that my Thursday dance group preformed the Lion King and I actually had a role in it! I was Rafiki aka the baboon which meant that I had a 15 seconds solo which opened the whole show, nerve racking or what, seeing as I don't get noticed very often.

February
Again, not much happened because most of the exciting stuff happened later on in the year, but I did get a follow from the Humphrey Goodman account on twitter, he's from the BBC TV show Death In Paradise (it's starting again soon!)

March
I have such a boring life, again not much happened because that was when I started to focus on school a bit more (that didn't last long!). That also was the time where I started to get very annoyed at life.

April
This is where things start to get interesting! At the beginning of the month we got a new dog, a black long-haired chihuahua called Percy, he was (and is) so cute! This is also near the end of lent, where I gave up chocolate for 40 days, and I actually did it! I also went to London with a load of my friends and school, it was so fun! Also one of the pictures is me and a few friends in the background on a ride at Thorpe Park, which we went to on the way back from London, I absolutely loved it! To watch see what I got up to follow this link to my YouTube channel.

May
This month was actually really good! I felt comfortable enough to not wear makeup on days where I had none to very few spots and my eyebrows were on point. I wouldn't say a lot happened throughout May but on the 31st I went to One Directions WWA concert in Manchester! It was even better because I got to see two of my favourite bands (5sos and 1D) in one night! I actually cried a bit cause before the concert actually started I was the only one who saw Luke Hemmings and Michael Clifford walking up the side of the stage! It was one of my most favourite experiences ever! To watch a video with concert picture in follow this link to my YouTube channel.

June
I had quite a lot of fun this month even though I didn't do major things! Firstly, I got back what GCSE's I would be doing (dance, history, psychology and fine art) which was very important for me. Then more things happened like performing our dance '9 to 5' at two town shows ( we had to wear horrible costumes), getting the top of my ear pierced on the day that I would be performing at my home town and then on the same day we had non-official prom! It wasn't official because our school had cancelled it so someone set up our own. Also, 5 Seconds of Summer had released their first album! I bought a lot of band merch that month. I also had lots of fun with my friends again.
Part 2 coming soon
