Dramatic Eyes

Saturday, June 11, 2016

Recently my life has been consumed my revision so blogging hasn't been a priority but I thought as a treat for only having seven exams left then I'd write a post. I'm going out to my mums friends party tonight so I decided to do a dramatic eye shadow look, I hope it worked!

I've also been looking in to cruelty free makeup products to buy after I've used what I've got. These are marked with a '~' so if anyone has any suggestions then please comment!

Products I Used:
Sleek Control Shine & Prime
~ Revlon Colourstay foundation
Collection Lasting Perfection concealer
~ Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder
~ Maybelline Dream Touch Blush
Sleek Contour kit
MUA Undress Your Skin highlighter
Urban Decay Naked 3 palette (Buzz, Nooner, Mugshot, Blackheart)
Collection Extreme 24hr Felt Tip Liner
~ Benefit 'They're Real' mascara
MUA Luxe Velvet lip lacquer (Tranquil)

I've been loving nude lips and dramatic eyes recently, I think it looks okay because I was having a 'mare with the eyeliner and eye shadow! There aren't any eyebrow products included as I have recently gotten HD Brows which I absolutely love!

Neutrals

Saturday, March 12, 2016

Recently I have been doing this makeup look a hell of a lot, but I just love it so much!

Products I used:
Revlon Colourstay foundation (Ivory)
Collection Lasting Perfection concealer (1)
Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder (Transparent)
Maybelline Eyebrow Mascara (Medium brown)
Maybelline Dream Touch Blush (2)
Sleek Contour Kit (Light)
MUA Highlighter (Pink Shimmer)
Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette (Buzz and Nooner)
Rimmel Lip Liner (Spice)
MAC Lipstick (Velvet Teddy)

You may have not noticed but I haven't included a mascara in the list, that is because recently I've had LVL Lashes done which is literally a perm and tint for your eyelashes. It's meant to last 6-8 weeks so for the past few weeks I haven't been using any mascara as my lashes look long enough!

Just finished all of my GCSE mocks and I honestly cannot wait until the summer holidays and I'm done with exams.

Treat Yo Self Haul

Tuesday, July 14, 2015

Today with the left over money from my birthday I decided to have a 'treat yo self' shopping trip so I'm going to show some of the things which I got.

MUA eyeshadow palettes in 'romantic efflorescence' and 'heaven & earth' (£4 each)
I absolutely adore MUA eyeshadow palettes as they're such good quality and have the prettiest colours which I expressed in my last post. I'm really excited to use the romantic efflorescence palette because it includes plum colours and I've never been adventurous enough to use them colours!

Collection Extreme 24hr Eyeliner felt-tip (£2.99)
Honestly, this is my favourite felt tip liner. This is probably the fifth time I've repurchased this product as I keep going back for more and more!

The Body Shop body mist in Japanese cherry blossom (£7.50)
One of the things about me is that I'm in love with Japan and anything about it, especially the cherry blossom trees! So I could not refrain myself from buying it as I absolutely adore it.

Topshop vest (£14)
Earlier in the week when I bought a new skirt I tried this top on with it and at that moment in time I only had enough money for the skirt so today I went back to pick up the top which I'm actually wearing right now. (Sorry for the yellow toned picture. I tried to take a picture of me wearing the top and as I couldn't see the screen the pictures came out too dark.)

Newlook jelly shoes (£3 in the sale, should have been £9.99)
I accidentally picked these up in wide fit but they fit fine. I have actually been wanting to get some of these for the past year or so but I didn't really want to pay full price for them as when I was younger they'd always give me blisters and I didn't want that to happen again. But I am in love with these and I can't wait to wear them as they would go with anything!

15th Birthday Haul!

Monday, July 13, 2015

Before I start writing this post here is a disclaimer: I am grateful for everything which I got for my birthday and by no means am I trying to show off. I am also not including everything which I received as this post would go on for ages with all of the little bits and pieces I got.

One of the things I have been using recently which was given to me by my friend Georgina and that is the MUA eyeshadow palette in Hall of Fame. We are both lovers of the MUA palettes as they are only £4 (!!!) and are quite similar to the Naked palettes. They are also very pigmented and are of a high quality. This is my third MUA palette and I'm hoping to get another soon.

The next thing I received was from my Nan, I about screamed when I opened this as I am an avid make-up lover I just don't have a lot of money to buy expensive products, and that is Benefit's They're Real mascara. I had heard so many good reviews about this and my mum also has it so I really wanted to try it out myself. I can confirm, I love this mascara! But due to the long fibres in a ball on the end of the mascara wand I constantly poke myself in the eye.

From my friend Clara, I got two The Body Shop hand cream's in mango and pink grapefruit (I got the shower gel from her as well) and they smell absolutely amazing! The mango one is pictured but my favourite is the pink grapefruit. It leaves my hands so soft and they come in a really cute metal tube kind of like watercolours would!

Another beauty product which I have been absolutely loving is the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint, from my Aunt. I always get two Barry M nail polishes from my aunt and she never fails to disappoint with the colours. I have them in 'plum' and 'sky blue'. Right now I'm wearing plum with a matte top coat over it. The colours are so nice and recently I have been loving purple and you can never have too many light blue nail polishes!

From my Grandma and Grandpa I got a white orchid plant which I've wanted for so so long! I just find them so beautiful, and from my other set of grandparents a got a bamboo orchid for doing well in my dance show which you can see in the back. Whenever I go in to Asda I spend quite a lot of my time just looking at the plant section in awe.

The final gift which I will be featuring in the post is a cushion from my friend Paige. It has the prettiest colour scheme or oranges, greens and white. It has the old rhyme which people say when picking off the petals of a daisy and I just find this cushion really cute. It already has it's place on my bed with a few other cushions which I've had for years now.

Big news! I actually got a new camera! (Just saying, but if someone asked what I'd like for my birthday I'd say that I was saving up for a DSLR camera so I ended up receiving mostly money for my birthday which was what I wanted and ended up having enough to buy a Canon EOS 1200D which is the camera I have been looking at for a year now.) So expect higher quality pictures and as it is the summer holidays also expect more posts on my blog and other stuff coming your way.

How To: Insanely Curly Hair

Friday, May 08, 2015

Hello everyone! Last weekend I went round to my friend, Georgina's house and she decided to curl my hair. I think it looked absolutely brilliant!

1. The first thing she did was spray my hair with GHD heat protectant.
2. When she curled a section of hair she pinned it to my head with a grip so It looked like I had little pin wheels all over my head.
3. It was left for a bit after it was all curled and pinned and then she took them out. My hair looked super curly and super short but it was absolutely amazing

As you can see, I'm and awkward poser so I just put my hand in my hair and tried to look decent. We then took a few pictures for Instagram which you can see. This style will last for three days but by the third day you'll have loose curls in the end of you hair.

I tried re-creating this look with my mum but slept on it over night. When I took it out in the morning it looked really good but as the day went on my hair was straight by the time I got home from school which is annoying.

Mascara: Ted Baker vs Maybelline

Friday, April 03, 2015

So here is another battle of the make-up products! Please remember I did my make-up differently in each picture so that may effect the overall result of the mascaras.

Maybelline: The Falsies. I absolutely love this mascara. Just look at how long my lashes look! I find this great as I have naturally short eyelashes which I absolutely hate. The picture for the Maybelline mascara (top) isn't very good as I must have taken it back in early 2014 but you get the picture. I hadn't even curled my eyelashes and I'm still amazed at how long they look! It is sold at £7.99 at Superdrug which I use to think was expensive when I first started to like make-up but honestly, I think it's worth it! Another thing which I love is the curve the tip of the mascara wand has which makes it a lot easier to reach all of the lashes.

Ted Baker: A Star Is Born. This actually comes in a gift set which I don't think is available any more but I chose this mascara anyway as I needed something to compare The Falsies to. I do really like this mascara but it took some time to get use to as the bristles were quite short and the mascara wand tip was quite straight. In the picture (bottom) I had previously curled my eyelashes before putting the mascara on so whilst you compare please remember that.

As you can see, I still have the same bags and lines which are under my eyes which is insanely annoying. But on the bright side, look at how much me taking pictures has improved! Overall, I think I prefer Maybelline's The Falsies as it adds quite a bit of length to my lashes but I will continue to use the Ted Baker mascara because I'm happy with the way it looks, what mascara is your favourite?

Ultraviolet Make-up Look

Thursday, April 02, 2015

Products used and in the order which I used them:

- Rimmel Stay Matte Primer.
- The Body Shop All-In-One BB Cream (00) with the Real Techniques stippling brush.
- Collection Lasting Perfection concealer (01) with the Real Techniques foundation brush.
- Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder (transparent) with the Real Techniques powder brush.
- Sleek blush in Rose Gold with the Real Techniques buffing brush.
- Sleek contour kit (light) with the Real Techniques contour brush.
- Maybelline eyebrow pencil (soft brown)
- Maybelline eyebrow mascara (medium brown)
- MUA eyeshadow palette in Undress Me Too. (Eyelid- Naked, crease- Lavish, Outer corner and under eye- Obsessed, outer lash line- Corrupt.) with the Real Techniques domed shadow brush and detailer brush
- Ted Baker beauty mascara
- MAC lipliner in Magenta
- MAC lipstick in Violetta

This is the type of look I'd wear if I was doing something, but unfortunately the day I wore this look I stayed in the house the whole day. I was slightly weary about wearing purple lipstick as my hair doesn't completely match it. As I took these pictures a few days ago you haven't been able to see the nose piercing which I got yesterday! I don't think I'll take make-up looks for a while as I have to let it heal first before putting make-up on it.

I'm sorry you had to see the permanent bags which are under my eyes but, I hoped you liked me doing something slightly different!

How I Store My Make-up

Wednesday, April 01, 2015

So here I am again! I'm doing quite well with this daily blogging thing as I am no half-term from school, so that means I have two weeks off!

A few days ago as I was bored out of my mind I decided to clean my bathroom, this went from wiping down surfaces to arranging my make up, I've changed it slightly so I've decided to share it with you!

I have a Ted Baker box which originally came with a few bits of make up in, like the mascara which I'm using currently and in the top part I have mascara's, and things in little palettes such as blusher and my Sleek contour kit.

Under that there is a drawer which has my eye shadow palettes, bronzer and a lot of lipstick and lip balm which I use. I've ordered the lipstick so it goes MAC, Rimmel Kate Moss, other single lipsticks and then lip balms. It also has a few things such as the end of an eyebrow brush and an eyebrow pencil thrown in there.

Next to the box I have a pot which has my smaller Real Techniques brushes, eyeliner, lip lacquer and my eyelash curlers in and two Baby Lips which don't fit in the drawer next to it. In the corner I have one of the Real Techniques stands with four of the thicker brushes in there and then behind that I have my BB cream, foundation and primers which all stand up as I have no where else for them to go.

As you can see from the tour of my make up storage is that I don't have a lot of it, only products which I need or like. Other than that I have a small box in one of the drawers in my bedroom which has some products in which I don't use or don't like but don't want to throw away.

I'm thinking of featuring a make up look of mine at some point in the next two weeks, if you want me to what should I do? (that is if you want to answer)

March Favourites

Tuesday, March 31, 2015

My first favourite of this month is my Nintendo DSi, but not only that, my favourite game of this month is Animal Crossing: Wild World. I've had the game for nearly five years now and I still absolutely love it!

My second favourite of the month is something I've had for at least a year now, it's Rimmel's Apocalips in Luna. I have recently found my old love for this colour and have been wearing it too school as it is a nude/orange colour.

The next one on the list is my MAC lipstick in Dark Side. This is going to sound weird but, I absolutely love the smell of it! The colour is absolutely beautiful and it is long lasting with a bit of lip liner on underneath.

My fourth and final monthly favourite in The Body Shop's body mist in Fijian Water Lotus. I normally go for quite sweet scents but decided to go for something a bit different, so I decided on this as it's a very nice fresh scent, great for spring!

Before I love you and leave you I'd like to say, I dyed my hair purple again! It turned out bright purple on the ends and then muted purple/pink on my natural colour which is towards the roots as I have ombre hair (which I still adore even if I had it done in 2013).

Daily Face Cleansing Routine

Sunday, March 29, 2015

Face wash:
Most of the time I use Clinique liquid facial soap for oily skin as it's a really good cleanser but weekly or twice a week I use Elemis fresh skin exfoliating face wash [not pictured]. It leaves my skin soft and smooth and it cleans my pores. I only need to use one pump/squirt of each of the face washes as they can spread across my face very easily.

Toner:
I use the Clinique clarifying lotion because it reaches deep in to my pores and clears out the dirt and removes any stray bits of make up from around the sides of my face. You only need one or two tips on to a cotton pad and it can get all the way around my face.

Moisturiser:
In the morning I use Clinique dramatically different moisturising gel which leaves my face super soft, another great thing is you only need one pump which is the size of a pea and . I absolutely love this packaging as it's super cute with the sliver C logo on the front. At night I like to use Elemis fresh skin night-time moisturiser [not pictured] as it replenishes my skin ready for the net day

All of the Clinique products which I use are all type 3, which is combination oily. Most of the products which I use are for oily and combination skin as my skin like to change and me insanely annoying half of the time. Sorry, I really hate the picture at the top but it can't be helped.

My Real Techniques Collection

Friday, March 27, 2015

Powder Brush - As it says, I do use this for powder and any contour I need to blend a bit more. It is so soft! Whenever I take it to school my friends always get it out of my bag and rub it on each others faces it's that soft. The only thing I dislike about this brush it that it has such a wide base so it can't fit in my make up bag when I want it to.

Foundation Brush (Travel Essentials Collection) - I hate using this for foundation as I think flat brushes make foundation look insanely streaky and caked on, so instead I use it for liquid concealer which it is really good at.

Stippling Brush - Instead of using this brush for blush and powder I actually use it for my foundation and BB cream as it gives a smoother and more natural look rather than making it really thick. Again, I'm not a big fan of the extra wide base on this one.

Setting Brush - You can use this brush for all the little nooks and crannies for powder but I actually use it for contour and highlighter as you don't get too much on the brush and it looks more natural.

Domed Shadow Brush (Travel Essentials Collection) - I absolutely love this brush! It is great for blending different eye shadows in to the corner and crease of your eye.

Multi Task Brush (Travel Essential Collection) - This brush is the type of thing which you can use for anything really, powder, blusher, etc. Personally, I use it for mainly blush or any days I feel like wearing a powder foundation.

Thank you for reading! Do you own any Real Techniques brushes?

29/3/2015 Update : I just bought the core collection!

My Red Lip Look

Tuesday, March 17, 2015

I don't know if anyone remembers but in one of my previous posts I complained as I had no one to help film my YouTube videos. While Georgina was sleeping over so actually suggested she helped which I am grateful about, thank you!

So, this is my red lip look.
